YciaRating: Pho A Hung by Night

Pho... Pho... Pho… Yup! The Vietnamese noodle soup! We have a lot of them here in Houston, this time i’m going to try the recently opened one on the corner of Kirkwood and Bellaire. Pho A Hung by Night! ‘By Night’ here means it stays open until late at night. So if you have ever craving for some Pho for your late dinner, you can come to this place.

Place is a typical Chinatown Vietnamese Noodle House. The server will give you the menu and you can go ahead pick your favorite Pho. I came here twice, both times I order the combination noodle soup or Pho Dac Biet as Vietnamese will call. I also requested the steam beans sprout and extra lemons. As always, once you order, they bring you the veggie tray which has some basil, jalapenos, lemons and beans sprout. But something extra this time… a little side of BROWN SAUCE! Your meat is completed once you dip it into this sauce. I can taste some garlic, ginger and brown sugar on it. And if you love it, they sell them 7$ for a bottle. (Ask it at the register desk)

So I ordered the number 1 on my first visit and number 2 on my second one!
Number 1: Tai, Nam, gau, gan, sach: Beef Noodle soup with eye of round steak, well-done flank, fat brisket, soft tendon and beef tripe with BABY COW.
Number 2: Tai, Chin, gau, gan, sach: Beef noodle soup with eye of round steak, well-done brisket, fat brisket, soft tendon and beef tripe with BABY COW.
Yes, some slices of baby cow meat. I know… it’s kinda sad.. but it is so... DELICIOUS. You gotta try it!I ordered the large size. For the noodle, it’s kinda stick together, so I need to loosen them out a bit. I can tell they already prepare the noodle on each bowl for a while before they pour the broth. Anyway, the broth is awesome!

Both combination noodle soup are really good. The only different is one has the well-done flank and another one has the well-done brisket. Overall, it's a good pho! Love the meat (especially the baby cow!), love the broth, and love the brown sauce!
If you guys have ever been here, let me know which one is your favorite pho.
